Japan to increase Halal food exports

In an effort to promote Halal tourism in the country, Japan is planning to increase its Halal food exports to Muslim countries in South East Asia as well as countries in the Middle East. Major food companies in Japan are taking steps to include Halal products in their product range. Japanese firms in the fields of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and finance are also planning to expand their product range in order to cater to the Halal industry. By taking such steps, Japan hopes to see a growing demand from the Muslim world for Japanese products with Halal certification.
