"Navigating in the Halal economy" - The theme of the 5th International Halal Conference in South Africa. The South African Halal Certification body SANHA (South African National Halaal Authority) is hosting its 5th International Halal Conference entitled, "Navigating in the Halaal economy" on Monday 16th July 2012. It is hosted alongside the African continent's largest trade exhibition, The Africa Big 7 to give the participants the opportunity to maximize their visit.
The conference will offer perspectives in understanding the global Halal market and the Halal value chain, make you aware of the latest findings in Halal science, maintain competitiveness and leadership and hopefully increase profitability in business. Then there is the opportunity of meeting and networking with role players and local and international speakers.
One of the Speakers will be Prof. Sira Abdul Rahman from India who holds a PhD in Veterinary Parasitology from University of Queensland, Australia. Dr Abdul Rahman has published more than 100 scientific papers and has authored a book on Veterinary Parasitology. He is actively engaged in promoting Animal Welfare in Islamic countries by raising issues of cruelty to animals prior to slaughter, long distance of transport especially in the Middle East. He is a member of the World Global Halal Forum and International Halal Standards.
