Halal Food at Kyoto University

Oct 2009

It may be hard to find Halal food in Japan, but not for them at the Kyoto University! Japan is one of the hardest places to find Halal food, but if you are a Muslim student at Kyoto University, it it will be a lot easier. The university will start serving Halal meals at its cafeteria to meet the needs of a growing number of Muslim students.

According to a Kyoto News article, the Halal corner at the cafeteria will have no pork and serve meat slaughtered in-line with Islamic rites.

It is estimated that more than 1,000 Muslims live in Kyoto, most of them are students in the university.
