How well prepared are Indonesia's provinces to welcome Muslim travelers? The Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI) assesses 15 of them using CrescentRating's ACES framework, in a publication produced with the Ministry of Tourism, Bank Indonesia and the Enhaii Halal Tourism Center at NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic.

About the index
A provincial lens on Muslim-friendly tourism.
The Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI) looks at how ready each province is to welcome tourists, and Muslim travelers in particular. It uses CrescentRating's ACES framework, the same model behind the Global Muslim Travel Index, across 15 provinces and 62 datasets.
Provincial governments and tourism businesses can use the findings to decide where to invest, which gaps to close first and which strengths to promote.

How provinces are scored.
Each province is scored from 0 to 100 on four pillars: Access, Communication, Environment and Services. The pillars are weighted by how much each one shapes a trip within Indonesia, which is why Services carries the most weight at 40%. Select a pillar to see what it covers.
