In 2018, there were 63 million Muslim women travelers globally with an estimated travel expenditure of USD80 Billion. The younger women who are driving the growth of this segment will be entering their peak earnings and spending more on travel within the next decade.

Launched at the Halal in Travel Asia Summit 2019, the Mastercard-CrescentRating Muslim Women in Travel 2019 (MWIT 2019) is the first report of its kind to examine the travel behaviors and consumption of Muslim women travelers. The report seeks to evaluate and understand the potential of the Muslim women traveler market for tourism destinations and businesses in the tourism and hospitality industries.
