Madrid hotels plan to attract more Muslim guests

An increasing number of hotels in Madrid are targeting the Muslim travel market - particularly travellers from the Middle East - with offerings of Halal food and other Muslim-friendly facilities. Spain received over 70,000 visitors from the United Arab Emirates in 2014 and numbers are expected to further increase in the near future. Industry experts note that Spain's close cultural ties with Islam as well as the immense popularity of football in the country are major driving forces in attracting tourists from the Middle East.
