Two of the world’s biggest names in halal tourism will launch new products aimed at revolutionising the fastest growing sector in the industry at the premier show for travel in the Middle East. CrescentRating and HalalTrip will be exhibiting at this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai next month and will launch a number of new products over the course of the four-day event.
Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of CrescentRating and HalalTrip, said the new products will be “innovations that revolutionise halal travel” – in line with the theme of this year’s show which is set to shine the spotlight on the growing importance of technology in the industry.
He said: “This year the ATM will be focusing on family travel and advances in technology and we will launch a few products which will showcase a huge leap in digital technology.
“Our focus as a business is to increase the interaction on a digital level as we are seeing Muslim travellers across the world, especially the Middle East, increasing their use of technology through smartphones and tablets.”
The company recently launched The “MasterCard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2015” which is the most comprehensive research that has been released on the sector.
Malaysia take the top spot on the list, for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) destinations while Singapore came first for the non-OIC destinations.
The study also revealed that in 2014, this segment was worth $145 billion with 108 million Muslim travellers representing 10% of the entire travel economy.
This is forecasted to grow to 150 million visitors by 2020 and 11% of the market segment with a market value projected to grow to $200 billion.
The 2015 edition of the ATM will take place at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre on May 4-7.
CrescentRating is now the leading authority on Halal tourism while HalalTrip is one of the world’s biggest online travel agents for Halal travel.
