Popularly called as "Big D", Dallas is the third largest city of Texas and an important financial center. Skyscrapers dot the skyline of the city; however Dallas is a lot more than just skyscrapers and business centers. Visitors will definitely enjoy their stay in this vibrant metropolis. Dallas is also an exciting place for sports enthusiasts. Numerous golf courses, lakes and parks are spread across the city. 

There are a number of Muslims that call Dallas their home. The Masjid Muhammad is one of the most prominent masaajid in the city. There are several halal restaurants and food stores across the city. Halal burgers and kebabs are gaining a lot of popularity in the city. Travelers can locate halal restaurants with the help of local muslims or look out for halal signboards on the premises of the restaurants. Many restaurants serve Arabic, Mediterranean, Indian and Pakistani cuisines.

Texas is also one of the states in the US which has passed the Halal Food Act (in 2002). This basically means "it a misdemeanor to illegally sell meat or other foods that are falsely represented as meeting Muslim dietary laws".

Most of the points of interest in Dallas are around the downtown area and the historic West End District. Dallas has an array of museums and art galleries. Some of the museums in the city include the Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Meadows Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Ripley's Believe or Not Museum and Dallas Children's Theater. Dallas has a lively arts scene and there are a number of art galleries too that can be visited.

The West End Historic district is another major hub for travelers to visit. The Dealy Plaza and the Conspiracy Museum are well worth a visit in this district.

Entertainment for both youngsters and adults, Dallas has some exciting amusement parks with fun rides and lot of interesting things to do. The Zero Gravity Thrill Rides Amusement Park is one of the best amusement parks to visit. Other interesting sites to visit include Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park, Dallas World Aquarium and the Dallas Zoo.

The Fair Park is a huge park in Dallas for travelers to visit. There are also a number of lakes where visitors can enjoy. Some nature preserves offer visitors a refreshing break from the bustling city atmosphere.

Areas of Greenville Avenue, West End district and Deep Ellum are popular for clubbing and late night partying. Areas to avoid for Halal conscious travelers. Taxis and public transport is easily available for visitors to explore the city.
