The Darul ‘Uloom in Trinidad and Tobago is also involved in imparting Islamic as well as academic education to the younger generation. The Darul ‘Uloom was established in 1984 and since then has been fulfilling the main objective of training students in Islam as per the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah.

Restaurants that are certified by, Darul ‘Uloom in Trinidad and Tobago have to sign a contract with the institute according to which they are bound to continuously purchase meat from approved suppliers. Hence visitors, can look for certificates issued by, the institutes at restaurants that claim to serve Halal food. Most of the local recipes in Trinidad and Tobago is inspired by, the Indian cuisine. Visitors can enjoy eating chicken, mutton or beef curries along with rotis or rice. One of the popular dishes in Trinidad and Tobago is the macaroni pie, a macaroni pasta bake cooked with eggs and cheese. Another popular dish is the cascadu, a small fresh water fish. The local Trini deserts are very sweet; some of these are potato pone and stewed guavas, bene balls, guava cheese, sugar cakes and jub jub. Several Indian deserts are also popular in the region like barfi, laddoo, khurma, etc. Visitors should definitely taste the sewain cooked in the Trini style, which is a popular Muslim sweet dish cooked for Eid.
