GEOGRAPHY

Mali is a landlocked country situated on the west of Africa. It borders Algeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal and Mauritania. At about 1.2 million square kilometers, Mali is comparable in size to South Africa.

 

DEMOGRAPHY

A population of close to 14.5 Million. Muslims account for about 90% of the population.

CLIMATE

Tropical and arid. Most of the country receives a negligible rainfall which may last for about 4-5 months. Temperatures generally range from 16 °C to 39 °C. April is the hottest month.

LANGUAGES SPOKEN

French is the official language. Bambara is widely used as well.
