Located on the Western Coast of Peninsular Malaysia is the historic state of Melaka. Positioned facing the Straits of Melaka, it is about 150km from Kuala Lumpur. The capital of the state is the city of Melaka located in Central Melaka

There are numerous Masaajid in Melaka featuring unique architecture. The oldest Masjid in Melaka is Kampung Hulu's Masjid located in the town of Melaka. The Jummah Salaath is starts around 1:00PM. Prayer facilities are available for women in most of the Masaajid. There is a wide range of Halal cuisine that travelers can enjoy in Melaka. Several Malay stalls and restaurants serve local food and cuisine from all around the world.

The A Famosa Fort in Melaka is one of the oldest European Architecture in Southeast Asia and is located on the St. Paul Hill; the other fort is the St. John's Fort. The Stadthuys is a red building because of which Melaka is called 'The Red City'; the building also houses a museum. Other museums include the Malay and Islamic World Museum, Stamp Museum, Youth Museum/Melaka Art Gallery, Malaysian Navy Museum, UMNO Museum, Baba and Nyonya Peranakan Museum, Cultural Museum and the Maritime Museum.

Take a ride along the Melaka River and enjoy the view from the 25-metre-high Eye on Melaka. Visitors can also witness some interesting sights from the Menara Taming Sari, located at the Jalan Merdeka, Banda Hilir. The historic place of Perigi Hang Tuah, represents the legend of the warrior Hang Tuah. For those who wish to experience the village lifestyle of Melaka can visit the Homestay Seri Tanjung.

The Portuguese and Dutch Square in the Melaka City showcase historic buildings, food stalls and cafes. The D Paradise is the latest attraction in Melaka; A Famosa Water World is another fun attraction. Visitors can take an enjoyable stroll along the Jonker Walk, which is lined with boutiques, cafes and historic houses. The Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex is an excellent place to visit.

The Melaka Zoo located in Ayer Keroh about 13km from downtown Melaka is the second largest zoo in Malaysia. Travelers can also have fun time at the Taman Mini ASEAN theme park in Ayer Keroh. In Ayer Keroh are other attractions like Book Village Malaysia Melaka, Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary, Melaka Botanical Gardens and the Melaka Wonderland Theme Park & Resort.

Travelers can also enjoy hiking through the rainforests in Melaka. Some of the most visited nature attractions in the state include Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest, Ayer Keroh Lake, Sungai Udang Recreational Forest, The Agropark and the Gadek Hot Spring. There are a few islands and beautiful beaches in Melaka including the Pular Besar, beach of Tanjung Kling, Pantai Kundur, Tanjung Bidara and Pulau Upeh.

Melaka is known for antiques when it comes to shopping in the area. Visitors can shop around the town of Mahkota Parade and in the Melaka City. Some of the main shopping destinations include the Jonker Street, Giant and Dataran Pahlawan.
