Located in the Andean foothills of Ecuador is the small town of Mindo. The town is a popular destination among birdwatchers and also attracts people interested in nature. The town is set in lovely cloud-forest, the Mindo-Nambillo Cloud Forest.

The most prominent masjid in the city is the Great Mosque of Agadez. It is visible from all parts of the city and can easily be reached. This masjid was originally built in the 16th century and was refurbished in the 19th century. There are a few restaurants in the city but their halal authenticity is not confirmed. It is important for visitors to confirm before dining in these restaurants.

The Grand Mosque is the main attraction of the city and is made out of mud-brick. It is said that the minaret of this masjid is among the highest mud-brick minarets in Africa. The Sultan's Palace is also good to visit. The palace is three-storeyed and visitors need a permit to visit it. The old town area consists of narrow alleys running around single storeyed houses. The residents of the city are friendly and help visitors whenever required.

There are several shops across the city selling locally handcrafted jewellery and souvenirs. You can get some good options in the street outside the masjid. The best things to buy include leather and silver items.

The city is small and most of the attractions are within walking distance of each other. If you want to set out on a trip in the Sahara, then rentals are easily available. It is important to hire a guide.

A popular bush walk in Australia, the Overland Track sees over thousands of walkers visiting the track every year.
