The Louvre houses a wonderful Islamic Art collection

One of the oldest and the most majestic museums in the world, the Louvre is a must visit site for those visiting Paris. Located inside the expansive Louvre Palace in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, the Louvre was established as a medieval fortress and gradually started evolving as a public art museum in the late 18th century. Today the Louvre is one of the most visited museums in the world. The main appeal of the museum is the world renowned portrait of Mona Lisa.

The Department of Islamic Art in the Louvre is the oldest Islamic Collection in an International Museum

The Department of Islamic Art is the latest addition to the galleries in the Louvre Museum. Opened in 2003, the gallery was originally created in 1890 and was a part of the Department of Decorative Arts. The collection at this gallery represents Islamic history and some of the artifacts in the museum depict the ancient relations between France and the Islamic world. This is the oldest Islamic collection in an international museum.

Located in Hotel Sale in rue de Thorigny, in the Marais district in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris is the Picasso Museum.

The Eiffel Tower today is recognized as the icon of France


Built adjacent to the River Seine, Eiffel Tower is named after its designer Gustave Eiffel. The landmark was built in 1889 and stands proudly in the 7th arrondissement in Paris. Eiffel Tower is definitely one of the most visited sights in not only France but the entire world.

Opened in 1992, the Disneyland Paris comprises of two theme parks: the Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios Park.

Sprawling over 20 hectares, the Jardin d'Acclimatation is a wonderful amusement park that brings back the childhood memories

The park also houses a menagerie, the Exploradome museum, and several other attractions. The park is located in the Northern part of the Bois de Boulogne, in Paris. Inaugurated in 1960, the park offers excellent recreational facilities.
