London is a huge metropolitan city and is divided into several areas. The city is home to over 345 Masaajid and it is estimated that London probably has the largest number of Masaajid than any other city in the western world. Islam is the largest minority religion in London. A large population of Muslims in London resides in East London especially in the boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

A large number of Muslims in London are descendants of immigrants from South Asia especially India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. There are also a significant population of Muslims from Arab countries and from the Maghreb region (Algeria and Egypt).

The main Masjid in the city is the London Central Masjid, the Islamic Cultural Centre, ICC or Regent's Park Masjid. It is located in North London and can hold up to 5000 worshippers. The East London Masjid and London Muslim Centre in the borough of Tower Hamlets and serves the largest Muslim community in the city.

London is a huge city with numerous districts and areas. There are some areas that have more than one Masaajid and finding them is not difficult. Visitors can ask around with locals about Masaajid near the area where they are staying. The hotel concierge can also give you directions to finding the nearest Masjid.
