The city of Newcastle in Northern England is a lively and vibrant place to visit. Visitors will definitely enjoy a walk along the Quayside waterfront, which is lined with stylish restaurants and public art.

The first settlement in the area of Newcastle was a Roman fort and a bridge on the River Tyne. The city is situated on the River Tyne in Tyne and Wear County. The city retains its medieval street layout in certain sections. The narrow alleys and streets can be accessed on foot.

Newcastle is rapidly developing into one of the best travel destinations in UK. The neoclassical center of the city called Tyneside Classical or Grainger Town was developed in the 1830s and has undergone restoration in the recent years.
