The history of Cardiff tracks to the Cardiff Castle when the Romans created a fort along the River Taff. The walls of the fort are still visible around the Cardiff Castle walls. During the Medieval times a small occupation started spreading from the castle a slight pattern of which is still visible in the High Street.

The bus service in the city is quite comprehensive. Taking the train can be a cost-effective option. Taxis and water buses make some good ways to commute in the city as well.
