Uruguay is a country with a land area of 173,620 km² in South America. It is situated between Argentina and Brazil. It borders Brazil to the northeast, Argentina to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast.

Moving towards eastern Montevideo, you can enjoy the beach and the surrounding glamor and fun. Travelers looking forward to seeing the colonial impression of Uruguay should visit the city of Colonia. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Colonia is an old colonial town that has been preserved to its best. Walk along the cobblestone streets or watch the sun go down over the Rio de la Plata.

If you are in for some adventure, satiate your urge at Punta del Este. The town offers numerous opportunities of parasailing, windsurfing, and waterskiing, sport fishing, etc. You can easily spend time lazing on the beaches. Close to the town is the lavish art studio of Carlos Paez Vilaro, the Casapueblo. Whether you are an appreciator of art or not, you will be impressed by this building, it is built along the cliffs of Punta Ballena. Another exotic destination is the Punta del Diablo. Relax at the sandy beaches and ride on the soaring waves while in this resort town.
