One of the most impressive museums in the world, the National Gallery finds the perfect place in the Trafalgar Square in London

Open every day of the year, this amazing gallery was established in 1824 and is home to over 2,300 paintings, the largest collection of its kind in Western Europe. The National Gallery came into being after the British Government purchased 38 paintings from the inheritors of an insurance broker, John Julius Angerstein. The gallery has paintings from 1250 onwards on display.

Visitors will surely love to see masterpieces from Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Rembrandt, Turner, Renoir, Gainsborough, Cezanne and Van Gogh.The collections in the gallery are a true representation of the traditions of Western Europe.You can also take guided tours of the gallery and attend lectures, video, and audio-visual programs on the exhibits. An audio guide is available for over 1,000 paintings.Tour of the highlights of the gallery is available in eight different languages including English, French, Spanish,German, Italian, Chinese, Russian and Japanese.

The National Gallery also takes care of the dining needs of the visitors. The National Dining rooms in the gallery was rated the 'Best British Restaurant' in the year 2007. You can also relax with a steaming cup of coffee at the café and espresso bar. Halal restaurants are also available within easy reach of the National Gallery.

The National Gallery, London is open from Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Fridays from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The gallery remains closed from 24-26 December and on 1st January.
