The Islamic World is an entire section in the British Museum that has been dedicated to Islamic history and artwork
There are over 330,000 objects in the gallery and the museum boasts of having the largest collection of Mesopotamian antiques outside Iraq. The collection of Assyrian, Babylonian and Sumerian antiques are among the most wonderful in the world.
Room 34 of the
British Museum has been dedicated to Islamic artifacts; the display at the gallery explores the Islamic faith and has beautiful calligraphy, arts and science exhibits. Some of the objects in the gallery include gilded glass mosque lamps, metalwork, tiles featuring calligraphic decoration and early scientific instruments.
There are also galleries dedicated to ancient
Egypt and Middle East where visitors can see exhibits depicting the history of the regions and also have a peek into the culture and lifestyle of these areas.
The museum is open every day from 10.00-17.30.
