The hall has been designed with arcades and massive columns that have been built depicting the interiors of the Damascus Masjid. The main feature of the gallery is the room-sized Ardabil carpet that was made in 1539 for the Safavid dynastic shrine in Ardabil. The carpet has been laid in the center of the gallery and is surrounded by 400 wonderful artifacts. There are over 10,000 artifacts, mainly ceramics, glass, metalwares, ivories and textiles. Many of them are from Iran, Turkey and Egypt. The gallery also has some great texts that show artistic exchanges between the Islamic world and Europe.
The museum is open daily from 10.00 to 17.45.
