The building opened in 1999 and was undertaken by the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed. If you happen to see the building at night, you can see that the exterior of the building features an excellently synchronized lighting show with the colors changing every 30 minutes. The exterior of the building and its façade are made from a woven, Teflon-coated fiberglass cloth.
The Burj Al Arab hotel is equipped with 202 extravagant bedroom suites which are designed with the utmost comforts that visitors will enjoy. The interiors of Burj Al Arab are out-of-this-world. The entire building is dotted with dancing fountains, huge aquariums, swirling carpet designs and lots of gold trims.
There are several restaurants in the premises; one of the restaurants is located at a height of 200m, the 'Al Muntaha.' The restaurant can be accessed by a scenic elevator. Another exotic restaurant is the 'Al Mahara' (The Oyester) can be accessed by a submarine ride and inside the restaurant apart from world-class cuisines you can see a large seawater aquarium. All the food provided at Burj Al Arab is halal.
