In the heart of the complex is the high domed hall of Cevahir Bedesten, also called as the Eski or ic Bedesten. This is the place where you can find the most valuable items in the bazaar including amber prayer beads, mother-of-pearl mirrors, watches, gold and silver jewelry and lots of other precious goods. The Sandal Bedesten in the northeast section of the bazaar sells a variety of items. The Sandal Bedesten has about 20 domes, the maximum that any section of the bazaar has.
The other sections of the Grand Bazaar are made by intersection of the two main streets and other sections of the main streets. You can spend an entire afternoon exploring the bazaar and later relax at one of the cafes. All the cafes and restaurants provide Halal food.
There are four main gates of the Grand Bazaar located at the ends of the two main streets. The bazaar is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It remains closed on Sundays and on bank holidays.
