GEOGRAPHY
Tajikistan is a landlocked country nestled between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to the north and west, China to the east and Afghanistan to the south. Most of the country is overed by Mountains.

A population of close to 7.9 Million. Muslims account for about 95% of the population.
CLIMATE
Continental and subtropical. The average temperature range between 23 °C and 30 °C in the lower elevations. In the eastern Pamirs, the temperature could go low as -15 °C in January.

Tajik is the official language. Russian is widely used as well.

Introduction to Tajikistan
Located between Afghanistan and China is the amazing country of Tajikistan. A former Persian settlement, Tajikistan is made of a mixture of various clans. Tajikistan is the land where Alexander the Great combated the Scythians and the country also had importance as a trade route as the Silk Road also passed through it.The country has a superb mountainous terrain excellent for adventure lovers to enjoy trekking. Tajiks are considered to be one of the most ancient people in the world. The area is thought to be inhabited since the upper Paleolithic period.
Dushanbe is the capital of Tajikistan and a very interesting city. There are quite a number of monuments worth visiting in the city. The Fort Hissar is 10Km from the city center and includes small museums depicting the original Tajik culture. In the main city center is a Museum of antiques and has numerous historic exhibits.
