GEOGRAPHY
Switzerland is a landlocked country situated in the west of Europe. With an area of 41,285 square kilometres Switzerland is home for a great diversity of landscapes and climates. It contains the Swiss Alps on the south, the Central Plateau or middleland, and the Jura mountains on the north.
DEMOGRAPHY
A population of close to 7.8 Million. Muslims account for about 4.2% of the population.
CLIMATE
The climate varies between regions. A Mediterranean climate is found at the country's southern tip. Summers are usually warm and humid with rainfall. Winters are snowy and cloudy in the mountains and may see no sun for weeks.
LANGUAGES SPOKEN
German, Italian, French and Romansh are the four official languages. English is widely used as well.
