The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama is the main agency for Halal certification in Sri Lanka which also aims to create awareness about Halal certified products and establishments. Established in 1924, the ACJU is a non-political, non-government institution which also acts as the accepted authority concerning religious affairs in the community. There are ten sub-committees in the ACJU which look into various sections such as certification, education, Islamic banking, social services, etc.
