Ancient display of Qurans is one of the main features of the museum. There is an excellent collection of calligraphy and how the art was used to decorate different objects. The artifacts in this gallery date to as old as the 6th century and as new as the 20th century.
In galleries 4 and 5 are ancient pieces of decorations collected from across the world. Gallery 6 has Islamic art patterns that were used in the earlier Islamic period. Gallery 7 shows the application of these patterns
Gallery 8 and 9 has science exhibits featuring important science manuscripts, precision instruments and tools that were used in the past.
The third floor of the museum has been dedicated to artifact collected from different Islamic regions like Egypt, Syria, Iran, Central Asia and India. A whole section has been dedicated to early Islamic art from different dynasties.
The museum also houses an excellent collection of books on arts. The museum is surrounded by well-manicured gardens and is open from Saturday to Thursday from 10.30 - 17.30 and Friday from 14:00 - 20:00. It remains closed on Tuesdays.
