A country that offers stunning outdoor sports, majestic castles and striking old towns, Poland is a must-visit destination

Located in the heart of Europe, Poland still preserves its historic character and culture, despite having undergone modernization. Most of the time it is an underestimated destination, however, once there, visitors will realize what they have been missing out on!The cities of Warsaw and Krakow represent the modern lifestyle and the culture of the country, whereas visitors can witness the historical character in old towns such as Zamosc and Gdansk.

Poland prides itself with a diverse ladscape from beautiful mountains and lakelands to fantastic beaches. There are some excellent resorts along the Pomeranian coast where the beach extends to the Slowinski National Park. The Slowinski National Park is popular for its huge wandering sand dunes. To spot bison head to the Bialowieza National Park that apart from being home to the bison also houses several rare species of plants and other animals. Canoe along the Brodnica and Mysliborz lakelands to enjoy a very different experience or explore the hiking trails of the Kampinos National Park. The "family-friendliness" of these beaches has not been verified so please check with locals before planning a visit.

Warsaw is a large metropolis and the capital of Poland has come a long way from WWII to become a desirable spot in Poland. The lush and inviting parks will impress visitors. Exploring Warsaw leisurely will take quite some time as it is a large city and home to several interesting landmarks and monuments. The National Museum has a wonderful collection of artifacts that will leave the visitors in awe. Visit the majestic Palace of Culture and Science and also the Wilanów Palace. Take a walk through the Warsaw Rising Museum which provides details about the history of the city.

The cultural capital of Poland, Kraków is a must visit for anyone visiting Poland. Home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the city has its own charm that grasps visitors. The Old Town in the city is the focal point. Get pampered at the Wawel Castle and you can also take a cruise along the Vistula River. The city of Katowice is also a cultural hub with lots of events happening across the year. Visitors will be impressed by the modern architecture of the buildings and the informative museums.

Escape from the city atmosphere at the Hel Peninsula, which is a great place to enjoy yourself. The Malsurian Lake District is a popular holiday destination among the locals. There are numerous lakes and canals that can be traversed in the area.

Shopping in Poland is an enjoyable activity. Visitors can buy enamelware, glassware, handmade jewelry, hand-woven rugs and woodcarvings. Warsaw and Krakow are some of the best places to shop while Gdansk also has some fun shopping centers.

Muslims are a minority in Poland and there are very few masaajid in the country. In Warsaw, the Islamic Center in the Wiertnicza area is the primary masjid. There are a few Halal restaurants in the vicinity of the masjid.

Poland is well-connected by railways. It is an affordable and quick means of transport in the country. The country also has inter-city buses running. Inside a city, car rentals, buses and trams are a preferred choice.
