For guest requesting Halal Food, we are able to make arrangements to provide from a Halal certified Food supplier. Sparkling red grape juice is complimentary for Halal conscious honeymooners. We will also recommend where to find Halal restaurants near the hotel as well as where to find the local mosques.
Sunni Muslim village life thrives in and around the Bangtao, Pansea and Surin bay areas. In Bangtao near the large Mukaram mosque there is an Islamic cooperative society and many tea, coffee and roti shops where the Muslim community meet daily.
Q. Darren can you tell us what are the interesting in the vicinity of a visitor to Outrigger can expect. ?
During the month of Ramadan, Bangtao Mosque - also known as Mukaram Bangtao Mosque - is very busy. The Mosque is the largest and most iconic mosque on the island. It is only 5 minutes drive away from the resort. It has a night market that is excellent for Halal food.
Further afield I recommend our guests to visit places such as Phuket Fantasea which is 20 minutes away at Kamala Beach. Also, Laguna Phuket Golf Club is 5 minutes away from the resort. The acclaimed and challenging Blue Canyon golf club is 20 minutes away.
For families, the Splash jungle water park is 20 minutes drive away. Layan Beach, a secluded beach, is just 5 minutes away. Indeed, Outrigger supplies free roundtrip transfers to Layan beach. Bang Pae waterfall is about 30 minutes away if you want a refreshing jungle experience.
Q. Any special acivities during Ramadhan ?
Phuket had a large and active Muslim community. Guests can join local Ramadan activities.
