GEOGRAPHY
It is a group of Islands in the southwest Pacific with a total land area of 18,575.5 square kilometres. The archipelago is located, north of New Zealand, east of Australia and west of Fiji and Vanuatu.

A population of close to 0.25 Million. Muslims account for about 2.6% of the population.
CLIMATE
Tropical and warm.Temperatures range between 27°C and 30°C from November to March and a cooler, dry period from June to August with temperatures between 20°C and 23°C.

French is the official language. Kanak languages are widely used as well.

Introduction to New Caledonia
The island boasts of having one of the largest lagoons in the world and a long coral reef. Besides exciting mountain expeditions and water activities, visitors can enjoy several other fun things in the country.The Grande Terre is the largest and the main island in New Caledonia. It is also one of the largest islands in the Pacific. The Isle of Pines and the Loyalty Islands are the other important islands of the nation.
The capital, Noumea is located on the Grande Terre and is quite a vibrant city. Visitors can enjoy looking at the beautiful colonial architecture in the city; the Museum of New Caledonia is home to several Kanak and Melanesian art forms. The City of Noumea Museum houses a miniature model of the city during the time of WWII. The Maritime History Museum and the Geological Museum are also worth visiting. The Michel Corbasson Zoological and Forest Park is a well-maintained zoo which is a great attraction for younger children. The Aquarium des Lagons is also a good place to visit.
