Genting Highlands overview
Written by CrescentratingSurrounded, by lush tropical greenery and lots of fun is the Genting Highlands. It is located in Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia and is also called as the City of Entertainment. Genting Highlands is placed on a mountain peak within the Titiwangsa Mountains and is on the border of the states of Pahang and Selangor. Genting Highlands can be reached by, car from Kuala Lumpur within an hour.
The Yayasan Mohammad Noah Masjid is the Masjid in Genting Highlands where travelers can pray. The Jumuah Salaath is held around 1:00PM Prayer facilities are available for females.
Most of the restaurants in Genting Highlands serve Halal food. There are a number of fast food chains in the area like McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, and Marybrown. There are also a number of cafes..
The Genting Outdoor Theme Park features over 20 rides for the entire family. There are also several gentle rides for small kids. The park is open from 10AM to 6PM on weekdays and 8AM to 8PM on weekends.
The First World Indoor Theme Park has six theme areas from all around the world. There are some unique rides that visitors can enjoy. This theme park also has the Genting Sky Venture, which is the only free fall skydiving simulator in Asia. The indoor park is open everyday 8AM till midnight.
There are several places where visitors can enjoy including the Flying Coaster, X-pedition Wall, Shopping Galore, Water Park, Rainforest Splash Pool, Haunted House, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, Snow World and the Space Shot.
Other places of interest in Genting Highlands are Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort, Genting Strawberry Farm, Genting Sempah Welcome Arch, Cradle Rock, The Visitors' Galleria, Kilometre 7 Nursery, Highlands Mushroom Farm, Highlands Vegetable Farm and the Highlands Daylily Farm.
Visitors can also enjoy a 3.3 km Cable ride on the Genting Skyway!, which links Main Station at Gohtong Jaya to Highlands Hotel and is the fastest and longest in Southeast Asia.
Muslim travelers are advised to stay away from the casino in Genting Highlands, which is the only casino in Malaysia.
Shopping in Genting Highlands can be enjoyed at the First World Plaza in the First World Hotel. There are over 90 labels and F&B outlets in the mall.
