The museum tracks the evolution of the Arabic script from earlier days to the present day script. The scripts have been displayed on wood, stone, marble, metal and textiles.
A well-organized museum, it has a rare collection of ancient hand written Qurans from Turkey, Iran and Indonesia. The hand written Quran from Indonesia was written by hot nails on palm wood strips. These strips have been bound by strings and have been beautifully preserved. The museum also has kiswa of the Ka'aba from the 19th century.
Another interesting display in the museum is that of the ancient Islamic Arabic Chinese calligraphy. Chinese calligraphy is popular across the world but this display is particularly interesting because the calligraphy has been done in Arabic.
