The Zoo in Medan spreads over 3 hectares and is home to a number of animals. Travelers can also visit the crocodile farm that has over 2000 crocodiles of different species. It is the largest crocodile farm in Indonesia.
About 70km from Berastagi is the beautiful hill where two volcanoes Guntug Sinagung and Gunung Sibatak are located. In this region, travelers can experience the culture of Karo Batak people. The largest lake of Southeast Asia, the Lake Toba is situated about 176km from Medan. There are beautiful mountains and beaches surrounding the lake.
