Centrally located Jama Masjid is the main masjid in Bangalore. Standing in a bustling area of the city, the existence of the masjid dates back to 1940. Built out of white marble, the building features impressive carvings. The masjid has one main minaret and several small towers. It also features two bulbous domes.
This the main masjid of Delhi and the largest in India. It was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It took 6 years to complete. The masjid was finally completed sometime in Hijri 1066.
The courtyard of the mosque can hold up to twenty-five thousand worshippers. Not to be missed on a visit to Delhi
The relationship between India and Islam has been a very old one. It can be dated back to the 7th century when the country was visited by, Arab travelers who settled along the coasts of the present day Kerela. They were the first ones to bring the knowledge of Islam to India.
