The city of Lichfield is located in the Staffordshire County in the heart of England. Lichfield is about 25Km north of Birmingham; the city started developing in the 12th century and still retains much of its historical character. Visitors can enjoy looking through the Georgian buildings and also witnessing the old cultural traditions.

Lichfield is home to he Darwin House is an impressive Georgian-style house and was the home of Erasmus Darwin, the Grandfather of Charles Darwin. The Letocetum Roman Site and Museum are the remains of a Roman staging post and include a mansion, a bath house and a Roman Archeological Museum that is open on selected days.

The Lichfield Heritage Centre has an exhibition on the history of the city. The Lichfield Clock Tower is a 19th century clock tower. The Staffordshire Regiment Museum is an interesting museum that covers the local regiment history. There are a few gardens and parks in the city including the Beacon Park, which also has an 18-hole golf course. Drayton Manor Theme Park is a pleasure resort with attractions for the entire family. The house of Samuel Johnson on Breadmarket Street is a museum dedicated to his life.

Lichfield has some wonderful shopping areas and boutiques. The Dam Street has old shops selling several interesting items. The Three Spires Shopping Centre is a popular shopping destination in the city. The Market Square also hosts a number of markets and shops.

The Lichfield Islamic Cultural Society is the main Islamic center in the city and is located on the Stowe Street. There are a few halal restaurants in the city most of them serving South Asian cuisines.

Most of the area of city center is pedestrian friendly so that visitors can wander around the area easily. The city is also served well by buses and taxis are also available. Car rentals are also available in Lichfield.
