Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, announced today that passenger traffic between Sharjah and other GCC destinations reached 551, 041 in the first half of 2010, an increase of 16.8 percent, compared to 471, 828 in the same period last year.

Air Arabia recorded an average seat load factor of 81.8 per cent during this period with a total of 83 flights per week from its hub in Sharjah to nine destinations in the GCC.

Jet2.com launches ski flights to Geneva from just 29.99 one way including taxes.

Leading low fare airline, Jet2.com, has expanded its ski offering from Edinburgh and Newcastle with the launch today of brand new services to Geneva for the 2010/2011 winter sports season.

The new services will operate during peak winter getaway times with Newcastle flights departing from 26thDecember to 9th January and then from 20th February to 27th March. The new Edinburgh service will operate from 20th February to 27th March. Flights are on sale now from just £29.99 one way including taxes.

Geneva is the ideal destination for the North's ski and snow board lovers with breathtaking scenery, outstanding restaurants and world class entertainment. As well as being a skiers paradise, it is also reputed to be one of the most beautiful and cultural cities in Europe.

Etihad Airways is providing additional flights between Abu Dhabi and Jeddah during the Holy month of Ramadan.

The extra services to Jeddah will operate until 12 September and build upon the 28 return flights Etihad currently operates every week to the Saudi Arabian destinations of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

The services – which will be operated by two and three class Airbus A330s and A320s – also open a range of short and long-haul connection options for air travellers in Saudi Arabia flying via Etihad’s home base in Abu Dhabi to destinations around the world.

Malaysia based Firefly, announced additional flights to various destinations in Malaysians during Hari Raya (Eid-ul-Fitr). In a statement issued Thursday, Firefly said it was offering additional flights from Subang to Kota Bharu on Sept 17, 18, 19, 26 and 27, and Subang to Alor Setar on Sept 18 and 19.
