GEOGRAPHY
Azerbaijan is situated in the Caucasus region of Euroasia. It has a total land area of approximately 86,600 square kilometers.
DEMOGRAPHY
A population of close to 8.4 Million. Muslims account for about 93.4% of the population.
CLIMATE
The average annual temperature is 14–15 °C (57–59 °F). The temperature declines with proximity to the mountains, averaging 4–5 °C (39–41 °F) at an altitude of 2,000 meters (6,600 ft), and 1–2 °C (34–36 °F) at 3,000 meters (9,800 ft).
LANGUAGES SPOKEN
Azerbaijani is the official language.
English and Russian are used in education and communication.
Lezgian, Talysh, Avar, Georgian, Budukh, Juhuri, Khinalug, Kryts, Rutul, Tsakhur, Tat, and Udi are all spoken by minorities.

The architecture in the country is a typical combination of east and west. There are several ancient architectures in the country including the Maiden Tower and Palace of the Shirvanshahs in the historic center of Baku.
One of the most ancient monuments in Baku is Gobustan popular for its rock carvings.
