Prayer Rooms @ Bangkok International Airport

Muslims who come to Thailand will really appreciate that two prayer rooms are provided for Muslim travelers at Suvarnabhumi Airport. One is located in the departure hall at the linking area between international passengers terminal 1 and 2 and the other one is in the departure hall of the domestic terminal.
The Airport (also known as Pearson International) has two main terminals and there are prayer facilities on both terminals T1 & T3

Terminal 1 Prayer place, also known as the inter faith room, is located on Arrival level at West End (1A). Close to the domestic arrivals. It has prayer mats and the Qiblah direction is clearly marked. Jumuah prayers are also conducted here on Fridays.  There are washrooms located close by for Wudu.

Prayer Rooms @ Madrid Barajas Airport

There is an interdenominational prayer room located on T1 and specific directions to these destinations can be received by the information desks located in each terminal. There are clean toilets throughout the terminals where ablution can be performed.

The closest mosque to the airport is around 10 Km and about 10 minutes away. It is located on Salvador de Madariaga called Centro Cultural Islamico.
The Muslim prayer is located on the 1st floor of the departure/transit lounge.  It has separate male and female facilities. For Wudhu one needs to use the washrooms near the prayer rooms as no specific Wudu facilities are available. They are well fitted with hand showers and more interestingly even has a place to wash the legs for wudhu without trying to be acrobatic...

There a few of mosques on the way to the Airport from Colombo. If you are traveling on a hired transport, the driver will be able to find a mosque for you.  However only a limited number of Mosques in Sri Lanka have convenient facilities for prayer and Wudhu for females.

Prayer Rooms @ London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow has multi-faith prayer rooms located in each of its five terminals. All of them cater to the needs of both male and female worshippers. The airport’s chapel, situated centrally between Terminals 1,2 and 3, includes a multi-faith prayer room (open 07:30 - 20:00). One can reach the chapel by using stairs opposite the entrance to the Terminal 2 short stay car park. The multi-faith prayer room is located at street level, above the main terminal building. Jumuah Prayers are performed here at 13:00 on Fridays.

Multi-faith prayer rooms are also available at the following locations:

Terminal 1: A prayer room is located in the departure lounge, near Gates 14.

Terminal 2: A prayer room is located in the departure lounge, near Gates 18 and 19.

Terminal 3: There are 2 prayer rooms, on the first floor in the arrivals area and after security control in the departures lounge.

Terminal 4: There is a prayer room in the departures area, between Gate 1 and security control.

Terminal 5: Multi-faith prayer rooms are also provided in Terminal 5, both before and after security. They are situated in the check-in area before security control, in the departures area near Gate 7, and in Terminal 5b.

However doing wudu is a challenge since it does not have proper facilities to wash your feet. The good news is there are "wudu stones" inside some prayer rooms so that you could do Tayammum (dry ablution).

In addition, there is a mosque in Hounslow; the journey from the airport can take around 15-20 minutes by taxi.
