GEOGRAPHY

Introduction to China

Islam began to spread its wings in China in 651 AD during the reign of Tang Emperor Gaozong. Over the centuries Islam has developed vastly in China and this has resulted in many Masaajid and sites that interest a Muslim traveler to the country.
As of now there are about ten minorities all over China that follow Islam and prefer to lead their own lifestyle and dining habits. Finding Halal food and Masaajid is not very difficult. There are quite a number of places that might interest the Muslim traveler such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Urumqi, Chongqing, Guiyang, Kunming, Lhasa and Guilin.

The Muslim traveler can find varieties of Halal food in many of the cities in China. Almost every city also has a few Masaajid that can be easily found. If you are interested in the history of China then you can take a historic and cultural tour of China with the entire family.
Visit places like the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, the Forbidden City, the Mogao Caves and the Sichuan Sanxingdui Museum.
