Introduction to Brazil
Finding a country as vibrant and beautiful as Brazil is next to impossible. From the mysterious Amazons to the much talked about carnival; visitors have a lot to do, see and enjoy in Brazil. The coastline of Brazil is rigged with island retreats and impressive sandy beaches. As the country gears up for hosting the FIFA 2014 World Cup and the Summer Olympic in 2016; a lot of developments are going around. From the stylish Rio de Janeiro to the multicultural Sao Paulo, Brazil offers everything to impress a visitor.
The earliest Muslims in the country were African slaves and then there was a migration of Arabs from Lebanon and Syria to the country. The cities of Sao Paulo, Santos, Curitiba and Foz do Iguazu have significant population of Muslims. Around the country there are as many as 127 Masaajid and Islamic organizations. The Islamic Center of Brazil in Sao Paulo is the most prominent Masjid in the city.
The most preferred city for travelers to start their journey of exploring Brazil is Rio de Janerio. The cosmopolitan look and the geographical variation amaze visitors from the time they set eyes on it. At one side where you can see the sprawling beaches on the other you can see soaring mountains. The city is packed with museums, cultural galleries, parks and several other interesting places to visit. Enjoy a great view of the city and its amazing surroundings from the Cristo Redentor at the top of the Corcovado Mountain. Rio also hosts the much-talked about carnival.
