For centuries the Nile has been the lifeline of Egypt and for years has served as the main trade route between the interiors and the Mediterranean. More than 6,600 km, it is considered to be the longest river in the world. Several civilizations have breathed along the banks of this lively river and till date, there are excavations going around, to find historic monuments and tombs along the banks of the river.

The best historic monuments are located along the Nile Valley. Luxor, Aswan, Minya and Cairo are some of the main spots along the Nile that interest travellers.

As travellers cruise along the Nile, they can see several ancient temples and palaces. Some of the main attractions along the Nile Valley are Al-Karnak, the Abu Simbel Temples, The Valley of Kings at Luxor, The Luxor Temple, Temple of Edfu, Karnak Temple, Mount Sinai, Temple of Deir El-Bahri, Philae Island and Temple, Colossi of Memnon, El-Fayoum, Nubia Museum in Aswan, Unfinished Obelisk, Valley of Queens, Beit Khallaf, etc.

Travellers can take a cruise along the Nile or opt to take a ride in the Felucca (traditional wooden sailing boats). Egypt being a predominantly Muslim country, finding halal food is never a problem.

There are also several souqs and upscale modern markets all around the Nile Valley where travellers can shop for perfumes, carpets, clothing, antiques, leather goods, jewellery, etc.

With so much to see around the Nile River, travellers will surely have a fun filled time along the Nile River.
