A picture-perfect city, Cartagena is one of the best preserved ancient cities in Colombia

One of the most popular holiday destinations of Colombia, Cartagena is located along the northern coast of the Caribbean Sea.The Cartagena beaches are perfect for a family holiday. The peaceful waters and the various peninsulas that curve inland make room for beaches that are protected from the open waters.

Whether you are looking for beaches that are close to the main city or offer a secluded look, you can find various options around Cartagena. Just outside the walled city ate the popular beaches of Bocagrande and Laguito. The beaches around Cartagena have brown sands, but if you are looking for beaches that have white sand, you can visit the Rosario Islands and Playa Blanca. Cartagena is made of several islands and peninsulas that jut into the Caribbean Sea. Visitors often consider taking a cab or local bus to get out of the city to visit the Boquilla Beach and Manzanillo Beach.
