The National Park known as the "River of the Hamocs"


Situated along the Amazon River in the Amazonas Department of Colombia is the Amacayacu National Park. The park was created in the year 1975 and spreads across 4,220 square kilometers. The park is best accessible from the city of Leticia. From Leticia visitors have to travel up the river by boat to find entrance into the park. The entrance is about 60km upstream at the mouth of the Matamata Creek.
