A modern city with several facilities and lots of sightseeing opportunities, Montreal is surely a city that should be listed on your Canada itinerary. It is the second largest city in the country and is rich in culture and history.

Montreal has a large population of Muslims and there are quite a number of Masaajid in the city. The most prominent masjid in the city is the Islamic Center of Quebec, which is also the oldest Masjid in the city. Other notable Masaajid in the city include the Masjid Al Ommah Al Islamiah in the downtown area, Masjid Assuna near the Parc area and the Masjid Aljamieh in West Island.

If you are interested in seeing the historical buildings in the city, visit the Old Montreal. Here you can see buildings from the 17th century. During the night a number of these historical buildings are lit up. The Bonsecours Market is the most conspicuous buildings in the area. The Place d'Armes is one of the main squares in the Old Montreal area. The Downtown area of the city houses several skyscrapers and museums. The McCord Museum features a huge exhibition of Canadian history.

The Biodome is an exclusive indoor zoo that imitates four ecosystems from the Americas. The Biodome is located in the Olympic Park. The Biosphere is also a unique set up that aims at creating awareness about the environment and water ecosystems. The Jean-Drapeau Park is a huge park located on the Saint Lawrence River; it features a number of attractions. The Lafontaine Park is counted among the largest parks in the city and is a favorite relaxing point for the locals. The Montreal Botanical Garden and the Montreal Insectarium are also worth visiting. In the heart of Montreal is the Mount Royal, a large hill that also houses the Mount Royal Park. The Lachine Canal in Old Montreal is among the oldest gateways of the city and holds historic significance.

Montreal is a shopper's paradise; the city features a number of shopping malls, fashion galleries and boutiques. Montreal is considered as one of the most fashionable cities in North America. The best place to shop in Montreal is the downtown area. The Underground City is the largest underground market in the world and a great place for shopping. The Jean-Talon Market and Complexe Desjardins are also great places to shop. Montreal is a good city to shop for antiques; in rue Notre-Dame, one can find a number of antique shops.

Montreal presents a wide variety of halal restaurants. Whether you are interested in spicy Indian curries or Middle Eastern curries, you can find a range of tastes. Do not forget to try the delicious pastries while in Montreal. Kebabs, tandoori and halal pizzas are quite popular among the locals.

Montreal has a good public transport system. Metros and buses are a safe and efficient means of traveling around the city. A number of car rental companies also function in the city and are easily available. A number of travelers also prefer walking and cycling around the city.
