Sucre is where the independence of Bolivia was announced. Sucre also serves as the judicial capital of Bolivia. The city of Sucre presents a magnificent collection of whitewashed buildings with sheltering patios. The city is home to some fine colonial architecture making the city a true centrepiece of Bolivia. In 1991, Sucre was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
