Azerbaijan is situated in the Caucasus region of Euroasia. It has a total land area of approximately 86,600 square kilometers.
A population of close to 8.4 Million. Muslims account for about 93.4% of the population.
The average annual temperature is 14–15 °C (57–59 °F). The temperature declines with proximity to the mountains, averaging 4–5 °C (39–41 °F) at an altitude of 2,000 meters (6,600 ft), and 1–2 °C (34–36 °F) at 3,000 meters (9,800 ft).
Azerbaijani is the official language. English and Russian are used in education and communication. Lezgian, Talysh, Avar, Georgian, Budukh, Juhuri, Khinalug, Kryts, Rutul, Tsakhur, Tat, and Udi are all spoken by minorities.
