Buenos Aires - Boasting of beautiful sceneries, awesome food and a thriving cultural scene

Buenos Aires offers a wide range of interesting things for visitors to do and enjoy. Located along the banks of Rio de la Plata, Buenos Aires has a rich cultural identity. Visitors visiting the city for the first time are often surprised by its resemblance to Rome, Paris and some parts of Barcelona. The city is known across the world for its fabulous monuments and cultural heritage.

Buenos Aires has a considerable population of Muslims. A large number of Muslims in Argentina reside in the capital Buenos Aires. The King Fahd Islamic Centre is the most prominent Masajid in Buenos Aires. Inaugurated in the year 2000 this masjid cum cultural centre also hosts primary and secondary school. There is also another prominent masjid located on the Alberti Street in the city centre.

Buenos Aires is divided into small neighbourhoods each with its own character. Stroll through the French-style neighbourhood Palermo Chico that has exquisite mansions and is home to the most elite class of the city. The Recoleta Cemetery has some beautiful Art Deco and Art Nouveau mausoleums that are worth seeing especially in the mornings. Do not miss visiting the Jardín Japonés in Palermo Park. It is rated as one of the most delightful open spaces to visit in Buenos Aires.

The vibrant neighbourhood of La Boca is known for its football team, the Boca Juniors. The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires is a fantastic museum that promotes Latin American art and you can see the collection of well-known artists here. Museo Evita narrates the story of Eva Perón by making use of audio-visual displays. The Plaza de Mayo is among the best attractions of Buenos Aires. Wander around the cobbled streets of San Telmo, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires. For those looking for some outdoor fun Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur is the best place.

Shopping in Buenos Aires is an exclusive experience and one of the best in Latin America. You can find some wonderful leather goods and also silver jewellery. A great place to shop for antiques is the Sunday Feria de San Pedro Telmo flea market at Plaza Dorrego. For handicrafts and jewellery visit the Hippie Fair in front of the Centro Cultural Recoleta. Some of the popular shopping malls in the city include Galerias Pacifico, Calle Florida, Calle Córdoba, and Patio Bullrich.

With Buenos Aires being home to a number of Muslims finding halal food is not very difficult. There are quite a few halal food outlets most of them serving Indian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Roasted meat is relished by the locals, asado a type of beef barbecue is worth trying. Italian and Spanish food is widely available across the city. Try out the delicious pizzas and if you are looking for something vegetarian, you can still find several choices.

Buenos Aires has an excellent public transport system. The metro or locally called as the Subte is the best way to reach all the attractions in the city. Buses and taxis are also easily available across the city. In case you wish to explore the city on your own terms, you can easily find a car rental.
