Guests and business travelers at Grand Mercure Roxy, Singapore have yet another reason to smile. From January 2012, all guests will have access to complimentary unlimited in-room broadband wired and wireless high-speed internet connection in all rooms and public areas within the hotel premises.
MANILA: The Philippines will be conducting public hearings in order to standardise guidelines for halal food.
The Department of Trade and Instustry (DTI) is expected to start the hearings on October 20 in Mindanao, which is where most of the Filipino Muslims can be found. Further sessions will also be held in Cebu City and Visayas.
At the end of the exercise, the government hopes to establish a National Halal Standard for food that would regulate manufacturers who want to export halal food to overseas markets.

Japan is one of the hardest places to find halal food, but if you are a Muslim student at Kyoto University, it will be a lot easier. The university will start serving halal meals at its cafeteria to meet the needs of a growing number of Muslim students.
