The John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City has a dedicated Muslim Prayer Room in the public area of terminal 4.
It began its operations as the Idlewild Airport in 1948. It is one of the leading international gateways in North America and there are more than eighty airlines operating from JFK.
Muslim Prayer Room
Terminal 4 has dedicated prayer rooms for major faiths. The Muslim Prayer room is well maintained with seperate areas for males and females. However for wudhu, you have to use the common washrooms which are not very wudhu friendly. From whatever terminal, you can take the inter-terminal train to Terminal 4, which only takes 5 minutes. The prayer room is located near the Emirates check-in counter. It is located in the public area, if you are departing from JFK, then you should pray before going through the immigration control.
Jumu'ah prayer is performed here as well.
Another prayer room is located in Terminal 1; Back left corner of 2nd floor(departures)
Halal Food
It is claimed that the 'Eat & Go Istanbul' in Terminal 1 is Halal-assured but it is best to clarify before dining.
