Crescentrating picks up The Halal Journal award for “Travel & Hospitality 2010” at the 5th World Halal Forum in KL

Crescentrating, was awarded The Halal Journal award for "Travel & Hospitality 2010 " at the 5th World Halal Forum Gala Dinner on the 21st June 2010 , for its pioneering work in Halal Friendly Travel. The award was presented to Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of Crescentrating, by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Halal Journal Awards is an annual award to celebrate and honour outstanding achievement and innovation in the Halal industry and is recognized as the most prestigious global award in the industry.

WHFLogoThe World Halal Forum was attended by around 900 delegates and leaders in industries, government, research organisations, universities and consumer associations. Nominations for the Halal Journal Awards came from all over the world including United Kingdom, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and more.

A pioneer in the development of the Halal Friendly Travel & Tourism sector, Crescentrating launched the Halal Friendly Rating for Travel and Tourism services & facilities in October 2009 along with its website crescentrating.com. Hotels from 14 countries have now joined the growing list of Crescentrated Hotels.

"We are indeed honoured and delighted to receive this prestigious award. Since the launch of our website and Hotel rating, we have had great feedback from the Industry as well as the travellers. This award strengthens our plans to bring more innovative services and products to benefit both the Travel service providers and the Halal conscious travellers," said Fazal Bahardeen.

"This award is in fact a recognition of the Halal Friendly travel market segment, which is set to be one of the fastest growing market segments in the travel industry. "With the Travel and Tourism expenditure for the next few years reaching 1 Trillion USD and Muslim Travellers accounting close to 10% of them, all travel service providers need to start looking at services and products which takes into consideration their needs" said David Smith, Chief Executive of the UK based Global Futures & Foresight. He added that this sector is likely to outperform most other sectors in the travel and tourism industry over the next ten years and these, often new, travellers will require clear guidance to know which locations and carriers best meet their needs.
