Phuket | beaches, islands and stunning scenery

If you are in South East Asia and looking for quick weekend getaway, Phuket is a good option. With around 30% of the population being Muslims, there is good availability of Halal food and Masaajid. Phuket is the largest Island of Thailand, located in the Andaman Sea. The Island was badly hit during the December 2006 tsunami, however most of the places have returned to normal now.

It is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Asia. The main attraction being the beaches, islands and stunning scenery. To add to that are great Golf courses, eco-tourism and without doubt, a great place for snorkelling and diving. If you like the thrill of speed, then speed boating could be for you.

One of the most popular tourist area is the Patong Beach. However some parts of this area are definitley not Halal friendly, as most of Phuket's nightlife is located in Patong. There are other "less developed" but more family friendly beaches such as the Karon beach, Kata Noi Beach, Nai Harn beach, Kamal beach, Surin beach etc. if you want to enjoy the beaches.

A short boat trip will take you to many islands including the coral islands of Similan and Phi Phi. Stunning scenaries, swimming, snorkelling, windsurf etc. could keep you occupied for the whole day there. Phuket is also home to around 20 km² of rainforest. So eco-tourism is another option.

Phuket Old Town is also a "must stroll around" place, if you visit Phuket. A half a day with a visit to the local masjid is not a bad idea. Choose early in the morning or late afternoon to do this.

There are quite a few Halal restaurants in Phuket; some have certification and some not. We have added around 10 Halal restaurants in Phuket in our restaurant listing section now.

We also have three Hotels from Phuket who have joined Crescentrating. One of the them, "Royal Paradise Hotel" has a Halal certified Kitchen.

If you want to take a package tour to Phuket, check out our Phuket Tour packages in the "Tours" section.
